Plastic is killing 40 per cent of young sea turtles according to a recent article in the Daily Mail UK. This is a shocking statistic, one we should all be appalled by. Baby turtles are almost four times more likely to be killed by ingesting plastic waste compared to adults.
The new study sheds light on the plastic pollution risks that are accelerating the world’s declining sea turtle population. Like most marine life, the turtles often mistake rubbish dumped in the ocean for food.
